The story behind Singularity

Singularity was founded by two people from opposite ends of the problem. Mike Prince spent his early career in property technology, first at one of South Africa's major property portals, then in the United Kingdom at Zoopla, where he worked in the corporate sales team helping the country's biggest estate agencies get the most from the platform.

When COVID arrived he moved into building businesses of his own, founding Kadraa Recruitment, which helps digital marketing and technology companies hire full-time remote staff from South Africa. He made a soft exit from that company in 2025.

Singularity began before that exit, when Mike met a South African lawyer living in London who wanted to bring the same idea to law, with a different model: not project outsourcing, but full-time lawyers hired into UK firms, chosen by the firm and deployed through one simple agreement.

That lawyer became Singularity's co-founder, and went on to dual qualify as both a solicitor of England and Wales and an attorney of the High Court of South Africa. Between the two founders sits the whole of the job: one side recruitment, operations and company building; the other the legal acumen, the understanding of what UK firms need, and the compliance they must not compromise on.

Three years on, Singularity has placed more than sixty lawyers with more than twenty client firms. The longest-running placement is nearly as old as the company itself, and most of the lawyers placed are still in their seats. The vetting is still done by lawyers, the shortlists are still built candidate by candidate, and the first month of a firm's first placement is still carried at Singularity's risk.
