How quickly can a South African lawyer join a UK firm?
Quickly on our side: our commitment is that you have at least three screened, vetted candidates ready to interview within seven days of scoping the seat, and the first can be put forward on day one. Firms that move briskly through their own interviews can have contracts signed within fourteen days of engaging us.
The honest constraint after that is notice. Good lawyers are usually in work, and like any hire worth making, your chosen lawyer may have notice to serve, typically one calendar month, though some candidates are available immediately.
The four steps
- Scope. A 20-minute call about the seat you need filled, the must-haves, and what the first months of work look like.
- Shortlist. A small shortlist, each candidate already scrutinised and interviewed by the lawyers on our team, with our vetting notes alongside the CVs. The search costs you nothing.
- Interview and choose. You interview them the way you would interview any hire. If nobody clears your bar, we go back to the market.
- They join your team. Full time, deployed through Singularity, with contracting and administration handled by us, and check-ins on both sides.
Fast search, no bench
Providers that promise instant deployment keep a bench of idle staff and allocate whoever is free. Singularity keeps no bench, yet still commits to at least three vetted candidates within seven days, because we put whatever resource the search needs behind it. Every shortlist is built for your seat from a network of more than a thousand South African lawyers, and the person matters more than the start date. A month of notice is what hiring someone worth keeping usually costs.
What you can do today
Book the scoping call. Twenty minutes is enough to define the seat, and the search starts from there. And if this is your first placement through Singularity, its first thirty days are at our risk: if it is not working, you pay nothing.
