What happens if the hire does not work out?
On your first placement through Singularity, in the first thirty days: you end the arrangement, you pay nothing, and we still pay the lawyer ourselves. No negotiation and no reason required.
After the first month it stays simple: no lock-in to stay, and a replacement whenever you ask, whatever the reason. All of it is written into the agreement you see before anything starts.
Why your first placement's first month is free to fail
However careful the vetting and however good the interviews, the only real test of a hire is the work. So a firm's first placement through Singularity begins with a thirty-day period that carries no risk for the firm. If you do not consider the placement a success, for any reason, you end it immediately and are not billed for the month. The lawyer is not left unpaid for trying: Singularity carries that cost.
Compare the conventional alternative
A conventional legal recruiter charges a placement fee upfront and offers a sliding rebate if the hire leaves early, which means the firm carries most of the risk of a mis-hire. Singularity charges no recruitment fee at all and puts the first month at its own risk. We would rather carry the risk ourselves than price it into your fee.
Notice stays short
For the first three months of a placement the notice period is one week. After that it becomes one month, on either side, the same rhythm as any member of staff. There is no fixed term to sit out and no exit fee to negotiate.
Replacement, whenever, whatever the reason
If the fit stops working in month two or month twelve, we replace the lawyer whenever you ask. There is no qualifying period, no fault to establish and no fee for the new search. The check-ins we run on both sides of every placement usually surface problems before they grow, but the replacement right does not depend on them.
